I have fixed the Calendar spread sheet originally uploaded by erian_7 in the [[Varisian Calendar|http://paizo.com/paizo/messageboards/pathfinder/runelords/archives/varisianCalendar]] message board thread. This new version is fixed for [[OpenOffice.org|http://www.openoffice.org]] office suite only and their is nothing wrong with erian_7's original version if you are using MS Office.

* [[PDF Image Extract|SomePDFimageExtract]] is a free tool that extracts all the images from a PDF in one go. Its quick and easy to use.
For my games I create a index card(3" x 5") for all magic items found during play. This adds a fun element to the game as players are awarded with an actual physical item for magic items. It also makes reference of the items abilities much quicker which in turns speeds up play. For one use items it makes inventory tracking very simple as a player simply hands me the index card when he/she uses the item. I am making these available for download.

While the 2nd is a ''.odt'' file type which is from the [[OpenOffice.org|http://www.openoffice.org]] office suite. I don't follow exact Core rules when calculating the Knowledge DC for my monster cards. The DC is calculated as ''10 + Hit Dice +2 per each book away from the CORE Monster Manuel''. So for example if the monster was from the Tome of Horrors(a 3rd party Monster Book) would be Two Books away because its not even a ~WotC book. So if the monster had 5 hit dice the DC to know info would be DC19.

When my players encounter a new creature I make them make a [[Knowledge Check]] to see if they know anything about the creature. If they are successful I hand them a Index card(3" x 5") that has specific player information about a monster. While more work, I think this is a better option then handing them the monster manual. This information does not contain exact stat blocks or even exact numeric ~DCs. Instead it has important combat information, but in a bit more of a generic format. For example I don't list the exact DC numeric number, but instead list the DC name as indicated in the [[SRD Difficulty Class examples|http://www.d20srd.org/srd/skills/usingSkills.htm#difficultyClass]].

I know I have seen a bunch of posts regarding extracting the images from PDF files. Their appears to be a big difference in how Adobe 8 vs Adobe 9 handles this.
I wanted to share that I found a free utility that extracts all the images from a PDF in one go. Just used it on Chapter 3 and it worked great and all the maps came without any room numbers.
Its called the [[Some PDF Image Extract tool|http://www.somepdf.com/some-pdf-image-extract.html]].
About the only bug I found with it so far is that the Directory you ask to extract the images to needs to be one folder deeper than you actually want. For example ''C:\~FolderA\~FolderB\~FolderC'' if you have it extract to ''~FolderC'' it will actually put the images into ''~FolderB''.
Other than that it makes getting all the images really fast and easy. Hope this helps others.

A [[TiddlyWiki|http://www.tiddlywiki.com/]] is a reusable non-linear personal web notebook based on the idea of web blogs. When stored on a webserver like a Yahoo Group this Wiki can be viewed by anyone with a web browser, but it can not be changed. If you download this small .html file to your computer than you will be allowed to edit the individual Tiddlers. This is very easy to do and does not require the use of any special web tool.
